Marco Peereboom is New Systems Development Lead for Decred, a community-driven crypto currency designed to be a superior store of value for generations to come. Marco is an avid open source developer and security expert, who has been actively involved in Decred since its inception in 2016.
Privacy, liquidity, and availability. According to a user survey from exactly one year ago, the Decred community overwhelmingly identified these three areas of improvement. While the embers of privacy smolder and tease against the silent backdrop of excitement and anticipation, I’d like to focus on solid progress on the other two fronts.

October marked a landmark for Decred: the launch of Politeia, its policy and budgetary proposal system. In the first week, six proposals were introduced, which the Decred community actively debated and voted upon.
Decred's proposal system, Politeia, goes into production. Politeia allows Decred users and stakeholders to propose, discuss, collaborate on, and fund new projects, initiatives, and consensus changes.
